Fire Alarm Inspector
Job Summary:
Candidate must possess the certifications and experience necessary to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, program, and install a wide array of proprietary and non-proprietary electronic fire alarm systems. Candidate should have the ability to accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection and be able to communicate with employees, employers, customers, and authorities-having-jurisdiction both written and verbally.
Qualifications:
- Seattle FA-1 License and NICET II (required)
- Washington State EL-06 Journeyman License (preferred)
- 2 years experience in fire alarm inspections, maintenance, and/or repairs (minimum)
- 4 years experience in fire alarm installation (preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot fire alarm faults and trace and repair ground faults
- Experience with fire alarm panel programming
- Understanding of NEC (low voltage) and NFPA 72
- Familiarity with water-based fire sprinkler systems (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google G Suite
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs
- Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, utility vaults (confined spaces), above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Valid driver's license with excellent driving record
- Must successfully pass a drug test and complete employment background check
Starting Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect and test electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites
- Produce system inspection, testing, and correction reports
- Work alongside and support the fire sprinkler mechanical team
- Service, troubleshoot, and install many different brands of electronic fire alarm equipment
- Test all equipment after installation/repair to ensure each system will perform as designed
- Periodically respond to 24/7 customer service calls
