Charles Simonyi Space Gallery
The space exhibit master plan includes multisensory exhibits that emphasize stories from the visionaries, designers, pilots, and crews of the Space Shuttle and are designed to educate and inspire all ages. The NASA Full Fuselage Trainer is a full-scale mockup of the space shuttle orbiter — without the wings. It was used as a test bed for upgrades to the shuttle fleet and for astronaut training such as extra-vehicular activity (EVA) and emergency egress. Patriot installed the overhead system in the gallery, as well as sprinkler protection inside the shuttle.
